Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian music producer and singer. The early work of her has been described as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4that draws inspiration from hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes in the lyrics. Five studio albums were issued by her. Growing up in Vancouver (later moving to Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently in the late 2000s and released two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album through Arbutus Records. She subsequently was signed to 4AD and rose to prominence after the release of her third studio album, Visions In 2012. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and was awarded the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album received high marks from critics and many publications voted it the best album. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
